Mangalam - Ravi Shankar & George Harrison - A Mantra for Prosperity & Auspiciousness
When I was 16 my parents gave me a book called “Yoga The Iyengar Way” and I still remember the excitement I felt when I first flicked through its pages. I stayed up all night to read as much as I could and I woke up early the next morning to start my practice. I had no idea what I was doing but I was interested in the philosophy behind it and I felt drawn to it somehow. These early morning yoga sessions soon became a daily habit. I found myself consistently showing up on the mat because I loved the way it made me feel. Yoga gave me discipline, focus and purpose and I believed I could achieve anything I wanted if I just put my mind to it.
A few years later, I graduated with a Law LLB (Hons) degree from Kings College London and a career in the city followed. During this time, I didn’t practice yoga as much as I would’ve liked to but when I did I always felt grounded, calm and at ease in my surroundings. It gave me a sense of stability in an otherwise chaotic world. It helped me realise that life and everything in it is temporary, full of uncertainties and change is inevitable. Every day presents us with new opportunities and new challenges. The only certainty we have is that time waits for no one and we’ll never get it back. I want to spend my time doing something I’m passionate about, something that fires up my soul and ultimately something that makes me feel better mentally, physically and spiritually. That's why I decided to become a yoga teacher.
I’ve completed my 500 hour teacher training, Yin Yoga training and I'm a member of Yoga Alliance. I'm interested in Ayurveda and incorporate holistic ayurvedic practices into my everyday routine. I host the YouTube Channel Yoga With Nutan, the podcast Astrology & Spirituality and I'm based in London. My aim is to make the Vedic practice of yoga and all the benefits it brings accessible to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. My yoga and meditation classes incorporate mindfulness and movement for people at all fitness levels and have been designed to relax, focus and improve mental wellbeing.
In my personal life I enjoy travelling, dancing, reading, writing and anything that broadens my horizons. I'm vegan and have a penchant for healing crystals which is why I founded Healing Energy Rocks
